Frank Canova is the creative force behind CanovaLabs. He invented the first smartphone 15 years before the first iPhone, and created several other breakthrough products since then. He is the author of 60 issued patents and has filed for a dozen others. In short, pioneering work is his passion. It is through that passion that he established CanovaLabs as an environment to help people create AI technologies that build better lives.
Frank has been a senior engineering manager at several successful companies in Silicon Valley and is a master at software, hardware, and wireless integration. He is the co-founder and CTO at Rithm AI that gives salespeople AI superpowers. Previously he was a senior executive of AI Device engineering at Amazon Web Services, a VP at Neato Robotics to create self-driving robots, an exec at Coherent to create ultrafast lasers, and also a VP at Palm to create the the PalmPilot and many of its handheld successors.
Canova’s years as an innovator have also led him to manage engineering in several startups such as Steve Wozniak’s GPS tracking startup “Wheels of Zeus”, as a co-founder of Livescribe to create a successful line of "SmartPens", and VP of PlasticLogic where he created a unique tablet with a flexible display for newspapers, documents and books.
He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology.
